Our Support to ROMANIES REUNITED

ROMANI ROOTS are  supporting and facilitating  the new organisation "ROMANIES REUNITED" as we see that the need for such a group is essential for much of our commnunity.

The organisation ROMANIES REUNITED as yet has not website of its own as it is still in its formative state, however we have offered to facilitate this organisation until such time as they are able to support themselves in an autonomous manner.

Please feel free to contact us, via our email address, with any concerns or enquiries regarding this organisation.

ROMANIES REUNITED

 ETHOS:
"This organisation was developed in order to help the Romany survivors of the Holocaust and their families to be able to find each other. We are aware that after WW2 there was little if any  help in tracing the Romany victims of the Holocaust and many have lived for the last 60 years unable to trace their families. Sadly some will have passed never knowing the fate of their relatives or even  if they survived."
"We realise how  stressful and upsetting it is for people to think about what happened to themselves or their relatives during that time. Having said that, we are also aware that many survivors would have been very young at that tme, or may no longer be alive. But  there are thousands of children and grandchildren of survivors, and Romanies who were scattered across Europe during and after the war. These families have been spread worldwide. Many going to America. Many of these descendants may wish to trace their famillies, and ancestors and be able to verify wether they remain or were lost at that tragic time."
"We know of many Romanis in Eastern Europe especially the Czech Republic who are still VERY VERY discriminated against. They aren't even allowed to go to normal school, but have to go to schools for children with mental problems,  and the EU will do nothing about this. The Lety concentration camp has a pig farm on it now, what a monument!
This shows that much of the racist idealism towards Romani engendered by the Nazi Regime continues today."

"We would like to make it clear to any Holocaust survivors or their famillies seeking lost members that  their private details will not be placed on this or any other web site. We will  keep a register of names/places/images and any other personnel details of family they are looking in order that we are able to investigate and hopefully find family members of those who request our help. BUT this will be kept in the strictest confidence. Only if requested will personnel details and  images contributed be placed on public display.
If someone else with similar details etc registers then we will liase with both until they are confident the other is genuine.  ONLY THEN WILL DETAILS BE EXCHANGED VIA OURSELVES AS THIRD PARTY."
"Our sincerest wish is to offer hope and reconcilliation for our race: we shall survive, and reunite our people, the race ROMANI.
PLEASE NOTE: WE ARE AWAITING FURTHER DETAILS INCLUDING EMAIL ADDRESS FOR THIS ORGANISATION.
